Sweet Dandelion Clocks…

Okay so how many of us use to do this when we were younger? And how many of us still do? Hehehe…

GE DIGITAL CAMERAI absolutely adore this sweet little image by Sylvia Zet – She is a Wee Stamp and her name is Dandelion Girl. It’s one of those images that’s makes you smile as soon as  you see it. :0)

My delicious papers are from Polka Doodles – and I have used the Sundae Of Seasons Cd-Rom.

I have used the same paper to make my own matching insert too.

GE DIGITAL CAMERAMy doily is from my crafty stuff as is the lace I used at the bottom of my card. The ribbon which I threaded through the lace is from Crafty Ribbons, and is the perfect decoration for the lace and the card I feel. :0)

GE DIGITAL CAMERATo bring my gorgeous Dandelion Girl to life I used my Copics in the following shades:-

Hair – YR23. Y28. 21. E51. 50.

Clothes – B18. 05. 02. 000.

Watering Can – Y15. 06. 02. 00. 000. G07.

Dandelion Clocks – E40. G07.

Skin Tones – E02. 00. R20.

White Opaque Pen for highlights.

To make my own ‘3D dandelion clock’ (i.e. my medallion) I cut a strip of paper 1 and a half inches wide and the width of an A4 sheet of paper long. Then I punched one long edge of it with my Martha Stewart Daisy Punch.

Next I scored it at half inch intervals, and then concertina folded it. Then I stuck the two ends together so that I had a circle and gently pushed the whole thing flat. Then I took a circle of card and glued to the centre and held in place until the glue was drying.

I then added a black button, and finally a tiny punched circle of matching paper (left over from making my insert) to this I added a sticky silicone bubble for a real 3D effect in the centre of my medallion/dandelion clock. Smiles.

GE DIGITAL CAMERAMy main card base is an A3 sheet of card cut and folded to measure 8 inches square.

The matt behind the image is from my scraps. And the three gems in the top left of my card are from my crafty stuff.

For my card layout I chose a sketch from this week’s “Come & Get It” challenge – and this is what I followed for it:-

Cindy's Oct. Sketch  For my card I moved the gems around to the other corner – and I decided that my image didn’t have to be the circle. (It doesn’t say image in the circle so I figured it was a safe bet.  Smiles.) My doily is the circle.

I also moved the flower (my medallion/dandelion clock) to the top right.

I love sketches for the simple fact that they give everyone a theme or a formula – but they still allow for individuality and artistic license.  And that’s just what I have done here.

A little bit of imagination and I have come up with something so completely different to the DT – yet something which still follows the sketch. It gave me a little bit of a challenge and made me think – and I liked that – a lot. Smiles.

It especially made me think as there were a few challenges I had in mind when I was putting this card together. And I really wanted to be able to create a card that worked for all of them. :0)

Which brings me rather neatly to the challenges I would love to enter my sweet little creation into. Smiles…
